(TO THE.EDITOR.) Sib,—Your able leader in the Settler “upon question I quite agree with,’and consider J the remarks justly deserved. In my'travels and during my residence in many parts of New Zealand I have noticed that to every district there comes a class of people who lounge ab mt on the land and hold on while it suits them, mostly dcing more barm than good by their method? of settlement. Bye and bye a new class coma along and give them a small sura to clear out. They aco?pt this, think themselvas well off and disappear. The true settler comes along then and land that the pseudo pioneer was glad to gat.a pound or two an acre goes ap to fifteen or twenty pounds, and that through tho energy and enterprise of the true settler. The pseudo settler then carses his luck. There are a lot of true settlers here, but—.—Yours, etc, GOOD OLD BUTTER FAT.
