Waitomo County Council.

The monthly meeting of the above Council was held at Te Kuiti on Monday, March 19th. There were present —Messrs Lusk (chairman). N. I. Hunt, F. F. Thompson, Jerimah Ormsby, A. C. M’Cardle and W. J. Hoffman.

Native Rates.—The Chairman reported having written to the Land Tax Commissioner, calling attention to the change in the Native Land Act of last session, and requesting a holding of the Assessment Court to determine the native rates in the County. Awakino County Boundary.—The secretary of tbe Manga o-taki Bottlers’ Association handed in a plan showing a portion of the Awakino County, with the sections and names of owners marked thereon, together with a written statement in support of the proposal to have tlse said urea included in the Waitomo County.—Upon Cr Hunt’s proposal, seconded by Cr Ormsby, it was decided to take tbe necessary steps to give effect to the settlers’ request. Clifton County Boundary. The deed of agreement between the Clifton and Waitomo County Counohls, respecting the proposed alteration of the boundaries between tbe two counties was duly executed and forwarded to \yeilingtoo.
