THE HAMILTON TROPHY.
(to TH® EDITOR ) I noticed a fe«v in your paper a couple of weeks ago about not presenting Mr J. Crotty, winner of Mr T. D’Arcy Hamilton's silver cup, with the trophy the night of the County ball. I wish to titate that the match was only finished late that evening and there was no time then to gut the cup and present it, even if it was the correct thing to do. I hold it was not. The cup was in my charge, and had no right to be given to anyone until a time had been arranged to do so. My arrangements were to call a full meeting of the club and present the trophy to Mr Crotty, who shot well and deservedly won it. My absence from Kawhia has caused the delay in not replying before.—Yours, etc., F. A. PEARSON. Captain Kawhia Rifle Club.
