(FBOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The weather now is particularly bright and spring like. The grass is growing fast, and sheep and cattle are apparently healthy and doing well. The football match on Saturday drew a big crowd, and was noted for the numerous spills in the water which lay in pools on tbe ground. A player named Duncan had the misfortune to have his collar-bone broken.
Mr Hans Boesen has been appointed chairman of the local branch of the Farmers Union.
Local farmers have wisely buried tha hatchet after the little disagreement in connection with the Farmers’ Union. A large number were pro and accepted as members at last Saturday’s meeting. This is very pleasing to note as unity means euc cess, and we can, when united, tell |ho G .yerninent what we want and gat it. " ’ ’ ‘
