ANNUAL MEETING OF THE KAWHIA CLUB.

Tbe annual meeting of tbe Kawhia Lawn Tennis club was held at the Settler office on Saturday night last wben about a dozen members attended, Mr Jonathan presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed, after which the secretary read a most exhaustive report, which was adopted. A lengthy discussion on the disadvantages arising from allowing members to be members of other clubs followed, and it was eventually decided to refer it to a special committee to report to the next meeting. It was resolved that the trophies won during the tebt season be presented at tbe next meeting. Tbe Secretary presented the financial statement, which showed that the club owed him £8 Ils, whilst there was 9s in hand.—Agreed that the gentlemen members be asked to advance £1 each, to be re-paid in instalments when tbe club’s finances would allow. The following offices were elected : —Patron, Mr F. W. M.H.R.; president, Mr VV. A. Mason ; vicepresidents, Rev. R. Mitchell and Mr M’Carthy; secretary, Mr H iwes ; treasurer, Me Gosling; auditor, Mr M'Oartby ; ground committee, Messrs Jonathan, Howes, Gosling,JM’Carthy, Falwasser and Pettits Mrs M'Oartby resigned from tbe executive, and it was desided to appoint the successor at text meeting. The meeting then adjourned.
