FROM OCR OWN COS 7, SBPONDENT. On Friday night, 4tb inst a social was held in she Public tfs.ll in aid of the Public Library. ?b.a night was fine and the dancing fraternity turned = out well and enjoyed a very pleasant evening. The soor was ii» good order and dancing was kept up till ihe early morn. The weather during the past week has been ideal, and to be out in the sun at mid day one liquid imagine it was the month of October instead oi August. Grass, fruit trees, and all vegetable life are putting forth new leayes, giving a verdant green to the paddocks, orchards, etc.
