Last week two genilfinieu represen t ing Messrs Smail and Parkor, the well-known flax-millers of Minauatu, journeyed from Kawhia to Maroliopa to inspect the flax a-e&s there w rich the firm have lately acquired. Ac onmpanying them wai Mr Newton, surveyor, of Oparau, who had received instructions to mike the surveys for the sites for two mills. The gentle men were greatly pleased with the large supply of high class green flax, and accordingly Mr Newton was asked to immediately proceed with the surveys, which he is now doing. We are informed that the company intend putting in two mills on the latest up to-date principles, at a very early date. The starting of these mills should be very beneficial to the whole district. It is anticipated that the plants will br landed on the ground in a few week's time.
