(FROM OCR OWN CORREBPOKDKNT.) (Thursday—Before Mr H. W. North* croft, S.M.) POISONING A BI VER. Alex. M'Oardle was charged with inciting a native named Heira, to pat abeep dip into the river M&ungaokewa. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 40s, with 7s costs. UQUOR IN THE KING COUNTRY, William Cook, butcher, of Mangapeehi, charged with bringing liquor into the King Country not properly labelled, pleaded guilty, and was fined £25 and costs £1 17s. The same defendant was also charged with bringing liquor into the King Country, having reason to believe it was for sale. Accused was convicted, and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
