The Kawhia County.

Mr Geo. Whitcimbe, ot Kawhia, has been appointed by the Colonial Secretary to cut the Kawhia County into ridings, and has submitted the following for the consideration of the Government :

If the southern boundary of the County is extended the ridings would require some slight alteration. The boundary sent to Mr Whitcombe is tbe Marekopa River. The Council will be composed of seven members, one to be elected for each riding and two for Matakowbai. Wednesday has been suggested as the best day on which to hold meetings. It is expected that the election will take place m about six week’s time.
