Lawn Tennis.
Daring the past week or two considerable activity has been noticeable on the courts of the Kawbia Dawn Tennis Club, where many rattling games have been keenly contested and watched with great interest. The cause ot the excitement was that memlore were competing for a trophy presented by Dr C. 0. Jenkins, and the event was concluded on Saturday l.fternoon, when Mr M'Carihy proved Io be the winner, having defeated all his opponents. The games played on Saturday wen rather above the ordinary, those between Jonathan and ?ettit (which resulted in a win for the latter) and Jonathan and M'Carihy (which was also lost by the former player) being splendid exhibitions, all the players showing greatly improved form. The following are the scores of Messrs M‘Oaathy and Pettit, who finished first and second in the tournament :

Pettit (8 pts. hdop.) beat Howes 50—45, Mrs M'Carihy 50—47, E. Falwasser 60—88, Morgan 50—36, Jonathan 50—86, Mias Stevens 50— 44, Gosling 60—28, and lost to M'Carthy 86-50.
