At the conclusion of evidence in the Onewheto tragedy case, the accused, Norman Keals, said he had nothing to aay, and was committed for trial at next sitting of the Supreme Court. While the Police Court proceedings were going on, Mr Cutten, S.M., was sitting as coroner at the inquest on the victims of the tragedy, the same depositions being used in both proceedings. The coroner found both victims had been murdered by the accused.
