An unconfirmed report states that the Germans executed Marilz, alleging treachery. It is stated that Maritz left a loyalist camp, promising to bring back the German artillery. It is believed that the Germans discovered his treachery during the attack on Kakamas, when they nar- ; rowly escaped disaster. The trial of Commanda.it Weßsels is proceeding. The Basuto chief Lethaniwopels gave evidence that Wessels i wrote him a letter, and promised him . independence if he were quiet or , aided the rebels. ,
The Press Bureau reports that the leader of the Nyassaland revolt has been killed.
