TE KUITI FIRE BRIGADE.
TEAM FOR TIMARU On Monday evening the matter of assisting the local fire brigade to visit Timaru and take part in the demonstration, came before the Council. A letter was received from the secretary ef the brigade, Mr R. M. Tinsley, setting fcrth the objects of the demonstration, and requesting the Council's assistance. Cr Somerville said the members of the tsara would be put to considerable expense, and thoy should be encouraged as much as possible. He would suggest £5 be granted, but would like to see a greater sum, as this meant only £1 pet man. Other councillors agreed with the sentiments expressed, and it was eventually decided to make a grant of £lO to the team.
