King Country Chronicle Wednesday, Feb. 10th, 1915.
It will be noticed from the programme issued by the Waikato Central Show Committee that the substantial sum of £lO is being offered for hawks' beaks. This action is being taken by the committee purely in the interest of the protection of pheasants and other game which the authorities are trying to foster. The nrizes offered hy the association are for the best collection of beaks, and in addition to the prize-money the beaks are to be paid for at the rate of 3d each. No feo will be charged for*entry. Every sportsman and settler who can posaibly do so should make an effort to encourage this most commendable move on the part of the association. We commend the . matter to our readers in the hope that a very keen interest may be taken in the matter, and a large entry received. ■, -
