A Mangamaire farmer, Mr F. W. Blatcford, had a splendid return from a line of ewes this season, BBys the Pahiatua Herald. The lambs reared by 204 ewea totalled 280, a percentage of 137. Of this number 95 per cent, were recently drafted by a fat stock buyer, while the balance ware yarded at the stock Bale in Paniatua and realised 10s Gd each. As showing how ocarco walur is becoming in the Wairarapa it is stated by the Wairarapa Daily Times that wolls in the Taunm district which have not been dry lor thirty-eighht years.are no longer giving water. The position is even worse at Tinui, and stock are suffering considerably. The wheat crops in the Masterton district are particularly fren from the Hessan fly this season.
