PREPARATIONS AT LILLE,
FEVER IN GERMAN RANKS

Offiaial. —The French troops' sudden coup destroyed the recently constructed German trenches to the north-west of Fouquescourt and north-west of RoyeGaulois states the Germans were prepared to defend Lille street by street. Cement trenches were constructed, and found naval guns placed in commanding positions. Rotterdam, Friday. The Germans' attempt to move new guns along the cofast was abandoned as the guns sunk to the breachblocks in mud. An epidemic of fever is causing the Germans anxiety. Attempts to isolate the patients interfere with the movement of the troops.
