Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P., has given a number of books to the Taumarunui Borough Council. The collection includes five volumes of Hansard, from 1854 to 1866, which afford interesting glimpses of early Nsw Zealand history. Mr Jennings' desire is that the volumes shouldjjform the basis of a public library for Taumarunui. Sergteant-Major Mooney, who is with the Expeditionary Force in Egypt, has written to Mr Mos'tyn Jones, of Te Kuiti, and states that all the men from this .district are keeping fit and are holding their own iailHlMiiaHi
