SERIOUS FLAX FIRES.
LARGE AREAS DAMAGED. Carterton? Monday. A fire occurred in a flax plantation at Toogodd'a Longbash mill last night. Aided by a strong wind, the fire"scon spread, arid in a very little time practically the whole 400 acres were destroyed. It is estimated that the loss will amuont to £20,000.
