The Editor.
Sir, —Kindly permit me to explain that, in consequence of the illnesa of \ our son, Mrs Griffiths had to hurry away from Te Kuiti earlier than we had previously intended, and this \ disarrangement of our plans deprived me of the privilege of saying "goodbye" to many friends. Furthermore, I should like to express my very hearty appreciation of the hospitality afforded to all and sundry in the pages of the Chronicle. I have been , more or less closely associated with journalism for many years, but I have not known any journal that equalled the Chronicle for fair and generous treatment in its political : articles and its church notices. In [ the former case its aim seems to be to act without party bias, and in the latter, unusual generosity. Thanking : you for your kindly services.—l am, ; etc., |
S. GRIFFITHS,
