FROM THE SEAT OF WAR.

Santa Claus will arrive in Te Kuiti on the 22nd, when he will be the guest of Mr S. Bewetson at the Novelty Depot, Zobel's Buildings. In spite of his great age he is still hale and hearty. His visit here is in the interests of the children of Te Kuiti, to whom he extends a cordial invitation to call and see him. Since last Christmas he has-been travelling the world searching for ways and means to make children happy. In spite of this tenible war, he has been able to bring with him Teddy Bears from Russia, all sizes, from little baby bears ■to big ones, as big as the Czar of Russia himself, Beautiful Dolls from France and England, Glassware and Ornaments from Belgium, and toys of every description. Although his greatest delight is in pleasing the children, he has not forgotten the older folk-. He has brought with him a choice selection of Manicure Sets, Silverware, Purses, Ladies' Bags, Vases, Handkerchief Satchets and Boxes, Dressing Cases, if fact, everything necessary to gladden the heart of the most fastidious.
