ENROLLING VOTERS.
ALLEGED BREACHES OP ACT,
At the Te Kuiti Magistrate's Court to day, before Mr E, Rawson, S.M., .3. B. Young waa charged with having cornraitted a breach of the Legislature Act by signing a ilaira for enrolment .as witness without having witnessed the claimant sign the form. He was also charged with bavirg obtained possession of a claim for enrolment signed by one Walter Corkill for the purpose of being delivered to the Registrar for enrolment and did fail to deliver the said claim.
Sergsant Rowell conducted the prosecution and Mr Sharpies appeared for tha defence.
In respect to the first charge Sergeantßowell stated in evidence that defendant admitted posting a form to a man named Northcote to sign. He also admitted the signature of the witness was his.
For the defence Mr Sharpies claimed II at the prosecution had failed inasmuch as Northcote had not signed the enrolment form. In respect to the second charge the evidence of Corkill was taken and the case adjourned till January 9lh.
His Worship reserved judgment in respect to the first charge to consider the various points raised by counsel.
