The points prize for the most points gained by any one exhibitor at the Te Kuiti Horticultural Society's sho* was this year won by Mrs L. R; Capp, Mr Kelso being second and Mrs Hunt third.

An interesting table at the Te Kuiti Horticultural Society's show held last week was an exhibit of vegetables from Messrs Chong Lee, and Sang and Wing. The vegetables were of a high-ciass oider and did credit to the growers. Iha gratitude of the Society is extended to th 9 above firms for their generosity in allowing their exhibits to be auction ed after the show.

At the meeting of the Waitomo County Council on Monday night, Cr Willis stated that he thought the metal going onto the Otorohanga roada at the present time wa3 too fine to laat any length of time, he did not think better metal could be got handy, but thought it would be better to do half the work with better metal. The engineer said he thought that the metal would last well and that there was no need to worry. The matter of caxtle and horses wandering on the County ro:.ds was discussed at the County Council on Monday night. Various councillors reported that stray stock were constantly running on their riding roads. One reported thai; in his riding a young bull was at large, which was proving a source of danger to both adults and children. The Council decided to take immediate action in the matter as they considered it to be an evil that should at once be remedied. On Sunday evening next a Christmas concert is to be held in the People's Picture Palace commencing at 830 o'clock. Christmas singing and sacred sol js will be rendered by local talent and a choir under the conduc.torship of Professor Swallow will render choruses from the "Messiah." All interested are cordially invited to be present and may look forward to a real musical treat. Admission is by silver coin and the proceeds are to be devoted to charity.
