POLITICAL CAMPAIGN.

MR JENNINGS' TOUR

Since leaving North Taranaki portion of the Taumarunui electorate, Mr Jennings, the Liberal and Labour candidate for the seat, reached Mairoa on the 19th inst. Mr Jennings' meetings at Uruti, Urenui, and Waitara were very large ones, the latter plaia having the hall filled to an overflow. A unanimous vote of thanks in the candidate was passed with enthusiaam. At Mairoa Mr Chestnut presided over a fair attendance, a motion of thanks to the candidate being passed. At Ngapaenga there was a good attendance, Mr Were, councillor for the riding, presiding. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried on the motion of Mr Troup, senr. At Waitanguru every seat in the hall was occupied, and the meeting was an onthusiasti« and lively one. Mr McLsay presided. A motion of thanks and confidence in Mr Jennings as the representative for Taumarunuui, on th 3 motion of Mr Lowrie, seconded by Mr Mills, was mat by an amendment, moved by Mr Thorns, of thanks for the address but no confidence in Sir Joseph Ward, met with an overwhelming defeat, 14 being for the amendment and 32 against. Some did not vote. The original rnotim was put and carried with great applause. The meeting ended with cheer 3 for Mr Jennings and the Liberal party.

A meeting was next held at &loeatoa, Mr Saunders presiding. At the conclusion Mr Kinniard moved, and Mr Aley seconded a vote of thanks and confidence in the candidate, which was carried. At Marokupa there was a large attendance, many ladies being present. Mr h Smith presided. The candidate gave a vigorous address, and a motion of thanks and confidence was passed wilh great enthusiasm on the motion of Mr J. Williscn and seconded by Mr. Halley.

Mr Jennings addressed a crowded meeting in the Te Rau-a-Moa schcol last night, Mr Jamss Noonan presid ing. The candidate touched en leading political questions and was frequently applauded. A vote of thanks and confidence proposed by Mr John French, and seconded by Mr Alfred Ireland, was carried unanimously.

MR WILSON'S TOUR

Mr C. K. Wilson has just completed his election tour from Waitara to Te Kaiti, spaakine at Urenui, Awakino, Mahoenui, and Pio Fio, at all of which places he received splendid receptions, and large audiences, receiving at each place unanimous votes of thanks and confidence in him self and party, with hearty chaei-3 for himself and reform Government. Mr Wilson is now touring the Wanganui river district, and will speak at Opatu and other centres, before undertaking a tour of the Ohura.
