POLITICAL NOTES.

MR WILSONS' TOUR.

I Mr C. K. Wilson having traveiled from Aria to Mokau by horse, and by car to Waitara, arriving about 11.30 p.m. on Sunday, experiencing very heavy rains at Mount Messenger. The trip started at Waimiha on Thursday morning, speaking there at night; at Tangitu at Mr Guilford's house on Friday A meeting was held in the Mapiu .school, and at night at Kaitangaweka. At all places the member was very kindly received and votes of thanks and confidence were passed. Mr Wilson then journeyed to Mokauiti school and had a very flattering reception, the settlers, both ladies and gentlemen, turning up, and at the conclusion of his address a vote of thanks and confidence wa3 passed accompanied by three ringing cheers. The next stop was at Aria, and a good greeting awaited the member there, and when the chairman's introductory remarks were made Mrs Holloway presented Mr Wilson with a bouquet of flowers. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks and confidence was pasaed and cheers were given for Mr Wilson and the Reform party. Many of the very bad difficulties in reading have been overcome, although plenty still remain, but the settlers show high appreciation for the work done by Mr Wilson on their bshalf. Mr Wilson visited Urenui on Monday morning, meeting the Bottlers at Messrs Newton King's sale. In the afternoon he spoke at Huriangi, and in the evening at Lepperton. There as a large attendance at the latter place. Votes of thanks were carried with acclamation.

Mr Wilson held a meeting at Waitaralast night. The hall was packed, and the candidate was enthusiastically received. From Waitara Mr Wilson intends returning through Mokau and Mahoenui to Te Kuiti, speaking at the various centres en route.
