LAND BOARD.

SPECIAL MEETING AT TAUMARUNUL A special meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at Taumarunui on November 7th. There were present —Messrs H. G .Bullard Commissioner, Coxhead, and Ryan. CONCESSIONS, A. Hagensm, tenant in common with Misa A F. Hag3naon of Li.-p. section 5, block 6, Waro, was granted twelve 1 months' leave of absence from residence, having joined the Expeditionary Force. John Pratt, licensee of o.r.p. section 6, block 1, Tangitu, Was granted twelve months' extension of time in which to build and reside. Extension of time to commence personal residence was granted in following cases: —Robert Peterson, section 1, block 1, Mapara, for three months. • LEASES FORFEITED. . After reading Ranger Tolmes's report on r.l. section 9, block 7, Mapara, held by Thomas H. P. Davey, it was resolved to forfeit the lease and re-open the section for application. LEASES AND TRANSFERS. J. C. Mackay, of Waimiha, applied for a temporary lease of about 2 acres of Mapiu township for graizng purposes in connection with his coaching plant.—Resolved to grant a year-to-ysar lease. An application by Messrs H. G. and T. A. Garrett, licensees of o.r.p. section 6, block 3, Mapara, to transfer to T. A. Garrett, the other, partner having feft with the Expeditionary Force, was deferred. The application of James O'Malley, lessee of-i. f .s.Li.p. section 14, block 10, Ohura, to transfer "to Henry Samuel Wilkie, was approved. Tna application of Gbj. Ingham, lessee of i.f.s. section 11, block 14, Ohcra, to sublet to J. H. Roche, on accomunt of ill-health, was granted. OVERDUE RENTS. The board in committee decided to make recommendations in various cases for the postponement of collection of rent due. TRANSFERS.

The following transfers *»were proved:—Jessie Kenman , and G. H Milne, section 3, block 8, Ohura, to Jessie Kenraan and B. C. Turner.

R. G. Carrie, section -3, block 7, Ohura, to Alfred J. £rice. R. G. Carrie, section 1, block 6, Ohcra, to Alfred J. Price. Mrs E. -E. Davis, second mortgagee of section 6, block 3, Aria, to E. G. Erickson and H. R. McDonald. Conditions of lease complied with at last inspection and the provisions of the Land Act complied with regarding sale by mortgage. —Resolved to approve, as.th 9 interests of the mortgagee in nioney advanced for improvements is liable to depreciation.

- Ernest A. Guilford, section 11, block 12, Mapara, balance of holding to L. H. and A.-H. Julian, sibject to receipt of declaration and undertaking from father of transferees re finance.

Andrew Mcßeatfa, section 1, block 3, Tangitu, to Geo. Ed. Welsh.—Two members of the board viewed the property and made inquiries, and transfer was approved. MISCELLANEOUS. Mr E A. Meredith, Crown Lands ranger, forwarded valuations and re ports on national endowment areas, sections 1 and 2, block 2, Mimi, and sections 1, block 1, Waro.

It-was decided to offe? the areas under renewable lease at the capital values fixed.

The Receiver of Land Revenue, sub-uittled a statement of Crown tenants in arrear, with rental payments, at date. —Deferred until the meeting of the 25th inst. Five applications for consent to mortgage were approved. Arthus E. - Bloomfield, lessee of section 16, block 4, Totoro, applied for an additional area, section 17, on the ground that his holding is toi small and rough to support a selector and his family.—lt was resolved to recommend the granting of 50 acres, being the east portion of election 17, block 4, Totoro, under renewable lease, at a capital value to ba fixed after inspection and report by the ranger.

It was resolved to approve issue of license to Wm. Lionel Martin, of section 19, block 12, Mapara, and Crown grant to Thoa. G. Mallett for Ip. section 27, block 11, Mimi, lr. 32p. It was resolved that the applications—sale plans 290 and 291—be approted, subject to the Commissioner being satisfied that they are aill in order
