INDIAN TROOPS IN ACTION.
BENGAL LANCERS' CHARGE. Received this day, 8.45 a.m. . London, Tuesday. A corporal of the field artillery arrived at Aberdeen, narrates a thrilling charge by the Bengal Lancers. The British had been fighting hammer and tonga for three weeks, and were exhausted. One brigade of German infantry attacked. When half-way to the trenches the Bengal Lancars who had arrived the day before, made a slight detour to avoid the British line of fire. They then swept into the Germans from the left like a whirlwind. The Germans knew the Turcos, but not these, dark-skinned Lancsrs who, with shriH yells, bought down a man with every lance thrust. The Germans ran for their lives, and the Lancers pursued them for a mile. They were with wild cheers when they returned to the British lines.
