THE POLITICAL CAMPAIGN.
MR W. T. JENNINGS ON TOUR. A large and enthusiastic gathering greeted Mr Jennings at Okahukura on Thursday night of last week, when he delivered his second elsctioasfirirg address at that centre. Mr William Forrest, th,e contractor for the Okaaukura tunnel, occupied the chair, and, in introducing Mr Jennings, referred to his long and useful- political career. The candidate received a sympathetichearing.and was frequently applauded during the course of his address. Mr Jennings' remarks wfere practically a repetition of his addresses in other centres, and his political views wer3 apparently in accordance with the majority o£ his audience. Mr James Magee, of ths Liberal and Labour Federation! of Auckland, and at present carrying out a contract in Okahukura, proposed a vote of thanks to the speaker and co ifidenca in the Opposition party, whichlwas seconded by Mr Melrose and carried unanimously, the candidate receiving three rousing cheers at the conclusion of his speech.
