EMPRESS PICTURES. The programme to be screened tonight for the last time is one o<" the best yet shown. In addition to a good selection of dramas, comedies, and scenic films, a fine film, taken at the Mexican War, will be shown, also a 3000 ft subject, entitled "Foul Play," a pictorial adaptation of Charles Reid's book of the same title. In addition to the full programme, an extra star picture will be shown at the end of the usual programme entitled "The Wreck," showing a head-on collision between two trains travelling at 60 miles an hour. The cost of producing this one scene was £IOO,OO. Also by special request we will screen Te Kuiti's First Contingent leaving for the front. For Thursday and Friday a complete change of programme will be submitted.

KUNTLY WIDOWS' AND ORPHANS' BENEFIT DANCE. We give a final reminder of the social and dance to be held in the Skating Kink to-morrow evening in aid of the Buntly Distress Fund. A very strong committee has the arrangements well under way, and no pains have been spared to make the comfort of dancers assured. The floor has undergone a special preparation, and a most elaborate supper will ba dispsnsed, while the music will bs of the be.st Tho object alone should be sufficient to ensure a well-filled of dancers and the general public, Bird we trust a record attendance will be recorded
