OPERATIONS IN AFRICA.

GENERAL BOTHA ACTIVE. Capetown, Sunday. The recruiting committees organising General Botha's additional force for the invasion of German South-west Africa are shaping well. The movement provides a muchdesired opening for ex-service men, who are burning to take the field. Existing volunteer corps and district commandoes in all parts of South Africa are offering their services en bloc. A semblance of mutiny occurred at Pretoria among the prisoners of war interned at Roberts Heights, but the trouble subsided before violence became necessary. Stringent regulations have been promulgated for the maintenance of discipline and for dealing with attempts to escape.
