GERMAN NEW GUINEA.
CAPTURED BY AUSTRALIANS. London, Saturday. It is officially announced that- the Australian troops occupied Kaiser Wilhelm Land (German New Guinea) on Monday without opposition, and the British flag was hoisted. The principal officers of the German Administration were absent. Four officers and 13 others surrendered and subscribed to the oath of neutrality. Of these the officials will be temporarily engaged to assist the Administration. The others are planters, missionaries, and businessmen. Forty German fighting men left a fortnight ago for the purpose of reinforcing the German troops in New Britain, but arrived after its capitulation. Theyi are now prisoners at Simp3onshaven. The health of our troops is excellent. This message was delayed by the censor. A message from London states that the Pall Mall Gazette, commentiug on the captura of German New Guinea and official reports of the magnificent Australasian contingents, aays: "London read these things with deep emotion. So will Berlin."
