Own Correspondent. PATRIOTIC BALL. Last Friday night an extremely well attendee! fancy dress and plain ball was held in the Aria Hall with the object of raising funds for the Patriotic Fund. The dancing fraternity came from far and near, and all found it quite a treat to be fvoured by good roads. Mr Green proved an efficient M.C. The music was supplied by Mrs Davidson (piano) and Mr J. McDonald (cornet), and the supper was given by Mrs jjjHolloway. Prizes presented by Mes3rs Zadey and Gordon were given for the best dreiaed gentleman and lady, and by lot fell to Miss Banning and Mr Mipi. Mrs and Mrs Green appeared as an Indian and squaw; Mrs Holloway, Turkish lady; Miss Harming, Eastern Princess; Miss Sangster, Brittania; Miss Myrtle Sangster, grandmother; Mrs S. Reid, Belle of New York; Mrs W. Reid, Evpning Chimes; Mrs Cullen, fortuneteller; Mr Hipi, Eastern Prince; Mr Bert Holloway, Spanish Troubadour; Mr Len. Holloway, Ki,ng Charles; Mr C. E. West, cricketer; Mr M. D. Fetrie, Btudent; Mr Kito Waka, jack ter; Mr Kewa, clown. Mrs Brough and Mr Green contributed well enjoyed songa during the evening. The net proceeds reached quite a respectable amount.
