A FRENCH TRIBUTE. '
London, Tuesday.
Mr Asquiith announced in the House of Commons that Genreal French reported tnat the withdrawal of the troops had been successfully effected. There weree over who thousand casualties.
Mr Asquith said the troops were hard pressed, but shook off the enemy The British, in spite of the opposit' ion and the hard marchng, are fighting in the best of spirits. The French Embaßßy, describing the battle, said the British Army was admirable un er fire, and ressted the enemy wiith its usual coolness.
