MESSAGE TO GOVERNOR
FIRST CONTINGENT WELL
A reassuring statement in regard to «K3 advance contingent of the Expeditionary Force was made by the Prime Minifter in the House of Representatives on Thursday evening. "During the last few days," said Mr Massey, "a number of wild and mischievous rumours have been in circulation with reagrd to a disaster which, is alleged to have overtaken the first section of the Expeditionary Force. These rumours have not the very slightest foundation. "I have heen specially requested by His Excellency the Governor , «o tell honourable members that he hni been in communioclion no longer ri;o than early this morning with lhu ; Expeditionary Force. They are well, and in good form, nnd ready to givo a good account of themselves whenever an opportunity may offer." The statement by the Prime Minmter was received wiih continued applause.
