A fierce battle in which the town of Malineß was the centre has raged all day. German reinforcements arrived from the eastward
The Belgians repulsed tho enemy on the southern side of tho canal in the town. The Belgians made desperate bayonet charges, and at several places the bodies of tho killed and wounded were piled to a height of five or six feet
The greater portion nf the town was destroypd. The Belgians blew up part of the town tu enable tho fort to uaei ts guns effectively It ia estimated that the Germans loct 2000 men. The Belgians also Buffered severely Paris, Tuesday It ia officially elated that the general situation determined the withdrawal from Donon and Saale, which were no longer of the same importance
