CANDIDATE FOR EDEN The announcement is made by Mr John Bollard,. M.P. for Eden, tfiat he will not be a candidate at the next general election. Mi C. J. Parr, C.M-G., M*yor of Auckland, has been selected as iho Govcrnmet candidate for the Eden electorate, which hus been represented by Mr Bollard for the last 18 years. In a statement made to a presß representative, Mr Parr Baid that the Prime Minister had asked him to be the Reform candidate for Eden in the event of Mr Bollard retiring. The Prime Minister had said that he wuuld be vary phased if Mr Fare could see his way to enter politics. "After giving tha matter consideration," observed Mr Parr, "I have acceded to Mr Marsoy'a request, and 1 shall be the Government candidate for Eden."
