THE DISTRICT ORGANISED As indicated in la3t issue, steps have been taken by the Mayor of To Kuiti and the chairman of the Waitomo County Council to, organise the outlying districta of Aria, Kio Kio, Mairoa, and Waitomo. The settlers in these districts are now busily organising, and a public meeting will be held in To Kuiti ut an early date to appoint o committee to act foe his northern part of the King Country, and to decide generally what particular object or objects the funds being raii»n4 will be applied to. -Duo ; notice of this meeting will be given hy advertisement, in the meantime donations, either in money or kfe,d, will be thankfully received and acknowledged by hia Worship the Mayor, (Mr J, Boddie), the County chairman (Mr Scholes), or the proprietor of this paper, and an earnest appeal is hereby made to all who have not already contributed, to play their part in this time of stress, when all sections in all paitß of the British Empire are responding bo loyally to the Empire's call. The Mayor desires to publicly hcknowlcdgo u cheque from Mr Iredale for £lO, a horse, saddle, and bridle from Mr Stevenson, Waitomo; also a sum of £l2 from the employees of Wilson's limeworks, Te Kuiti; and £5 from Mr J. C. Milldr, Waitomo; To Kuiti Picture Co., £l6 6s 6<*. . Mrs Fitzgerald, hon. sec. of In a ladies' committee, haa received a personal letter of thankß from Lady Liverpool, appreciating the ellorts of the committee in providing comforts for the troops now under uders for the front.
