Own Correspondent Lamb 3 are now becoming plentiful around this district, and bear a very healthy and well nourished appearance. The weather has not been very favourable of late, cold rains alternating with Bharp frosts. The general impression seems to be that we have not had so much rain thiß winter as usual, but far more fogs and cold wind.
The dairymen are just beginning to get busy again, and from present appearances there will be a large increase in the number ..of cows milked this season. The tOD price for wool sant Home through the Te Kuiti branch of the Union Bank has been Beeured by a .Waitomo settler, Mr G. D. Hall. The price realised was 12Jd for a parcel of lambs' wool. The same grower received ll£d for ewes' wool, unclassed. Property Btill continues to change hand* around about. Mr "A. W. Renal! has just disposed of his property on the road to a Wairarapa buyer at a satisfactory figure. Messrs Tarry and Stanley have at last completed their n-etalling contract end shut down for a time. Messrs Rennie and Hickey are still plodding along with their job, and considering the small number of teams engaged, and tho distance to haul the metal, are making good headway.
