TARAMI LAND BOARD.

ELECTION OF MEMBER The election for the purpose of returning a representative of the Crown settlers of the district on the Taranaki Land Board, which has just been completed, resulted in Mr C. J. Ryac, of Taumarunui, being re-elected. Mr Ryan polled 409 votes, and Mr W. Sandison, chairman of the Ohura Cou-ty Council, 140. Both gentlemen mentioned are old Ohura settlers who have been prominently associated with the progress of the district. Mr Ryan was one of the original pioneers of the Ohura, and is thoroughly acquainted with the conditions under which settlement in the backblocks is carried on.
