Prominent workers in tbe ranks of the Prohibition party will deliver addresses at Te Kuiti on Sunday and Monday next. , In moving the second reading of the Licensing Amendment Bill lßst night the Prime Minister in referring to King Country conditions said personally he did not favour any form of State control. He favoured the settin? up of a Royal Commission to ascertain the conditions, and then deal with the matter through a consolidating measure. The Te Kuiti Debating Society will meet to-morrow evening in the Municipal Hall. The subject for debare is "Should Lic'ensod Houses be Established in the' King Country?" Both sides have prepared their reasons very exhaustively, and a keen debate is anticipated. The public is cordially invited to be present.
