TE KUITI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING The annual general megting of the Te Kuiti Horticultural Society was held in Mr Walker's rooms on Wednesday evening last. There was a good attendance o£ membars, and Mr N. G. Matthew, president, occupied the chair. The president's report and treasurer's balance sheet were read and adopted. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of ,£l2 79. In view of the expenditure during the past season was heavy and the day upon which the show was held was a vary wet one, this balance was thought very satisfactory. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr C. K. Wilaon, M.F.; president, Mr N. C. Matthew; vice-presidents, Messrs Keho, Boddie, Julian, Broadfoot, Hine, Ogier, and Howarth; Committee, Meßsrs Stevens, Mors,-Jul!,'Kirk, Hhrton, Capp, Gresham, Higgs, Williams, and R. C. Jordan. The secretary and treasurer, Mr J. E. "Walker, was re-elected. The secretary was instructed to call a meeting of ladies interested in the Society, with the object of forming a ladies' committee. The date of the next annual Bhow was fixed for Thursday, December 3rd. The schedule was revised and some additions made. It was resolved that, on account of the exc«llflncy of the exhibit forwarded by Chong Lee to the last show, a certificate of merit bu presented to him by the Society. A vote of thanks wsa accorded to the secretary, Mr J. E. Walker,, for the good work done by him prior to and during the piot show. A vote of thanks was ilsi accorded to those who so kindly donated trophies. It was resolved that poultry classes be included in the coming show, and a sub-committee was appointed to go into this matter.
