PIO PIO SALEYARDS COMPANY.
It was decided at the last meeting of the directors, held on Wednedsay, that a varying fee be charged on all stock ya.'ded in the Pio Pio yards'by any person not owning five shares in the company. The directors have had'thia question under considero'ion for some time hoping that sufficient shares would be taken up to enable them to carry out certain necessary improvements and additions. Ail the improvements and additions that have been done during the last two years have been done out of income, over £2OO having been sent in this way. An endeavour has been made to get further, shares taken up. but this has not been successful although there are several settlers in the district who are non-shareholders. It is essential that certain other imrovements and additions be done at once. The accommodation for cattle, especially dairy cows and young stock is quite inadequate, and it is necessary to metal the existing cattle pens. To accomplish this tho directors are compelled to charge a yarding fee as stated above, hoping that many nonshareholders will take up shares and that present shareholders will take up further shares. The scale of fees will ba advertised Mr G. Nelson has been appointed to collect the feeß and these will have to be paid before tte stock can be yarded.
