Mftttera in connection with the establishing of a High School for Te Kuiti have preceded satisfactorily, and everything is now in order for starting th£ intsitution at an early date. No provision has yet been made for a separate building for the High School, but it is probable tbe pupils can be accommodated meanwhile in tbe old Bchool to which substantial addtiionß are now being made. All t£at t rs .required to com • pletp the arrangements is the Ministerial sanction, and Messrs Walsh, chairman of- , the committee,. and E; Power, headmaster, waited on Mr Massey, when the Prime Minister wbb at Te Kuiti, and requested him to expedite matters. Mr Massey undertook to forward the request and bb soon as con vepient the school for' secondary pupils will be opened. Considerable impiovementß have been made in the school grounds, the Board of Education having made a grant of £25, which was expended under the supervision of Mr Dix, the borough foreman. The school and teacher's residence are also to be re-painted, and sundry other improvements made to the grounds.
