Colonel Thompson urged the defenders to leave the trenches and advance. He showed the way and several followed but promptly returned to the r trenches. The colonel was hit in the neck, and' fell in the ODen. No Albanians went to his assistance. Two European* carried him to 8 hoosp, where he died in few minutes. The defence of Prince Wied's residence and the Legations has been M-; signed to the Italian sailors.
