Beef.—Market dull, especially in the case of fores. New Zealand hinds 4 15-16 d, fores 3 7-16 d; chilled hinds 5f d, fores 3£d. River Plate shipments received during May at London were sb follows: —Mutton, 66,601 quarter?, lamb 50,704; Liverpoul 151,585 and 90,026; Hull 13,762 and 1503; Southampton, 7112 and 19,389; Newcastle 4000 and 500; Treland, 2987 and nil; totals, 246,047 and 162.122. Totals for May, 1913, 175,362 and 128,480. Butter.—Market firm and' steady. Danish slow 114s to 116s per cwt, New Zealand firm 108 a to 110 a, exceptionally choice 112s, Australian market quiet but steady 100s to 104?, Siberian steady 98s to 102s, Irish creamery firmer 104s to 108s. Cheese.—Market firm, with good demand. Canadian old make 68a to 70a per cwt., finer make in good demand *vhite 62s to 63 1, coloured 62s to 645; New Zealand firmer with good demand white 64s to 65?, coloured 65d to 665. Wool.—The market for tops remains firm, 36's low crossbreds 16Jd, 40' a low crossbreds 16Jd, 44's medium crossbreds 17d; 50' a halfbreda 20£ d; 56V quarterbreds 23fi; 60's merinos 31£ d. '
