AMUSEMENTS.
■-• ■ EMPRESS THEATRE. The star film for to-night's programme is entitled "A Son of His Father," which is full of humanity and emotion. This picture has earned the reputation of being on-i of the best of the Lubin Company's dramatic photo plays. The supporting films are of unusual interest. The pogramme will be repeated on Monday evening. The programme for Tuesday and Wednesday will include as the star picture "The Lost Millionaire." FRANCHISE SOCIAL. One of the most pleasant and well conduced socials thiß season was held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. Fully sixty couples attended, and participated in the enjoyment of the evening, to the strains of wellchosen ana rendered music by Mr Christian. The committee responsible for the arrangements were Mesdames Langstone, Henderson, Wilkie, Reardon, and Misa B. Turner. The manner in which every detail was carried out reflects the greatest credit on the above ladies. The M's.C. were Mesdames Langstone and Henderson, who showed a masterly grasp of the situation. The supper was provided by the ladies and satisfied the moat fastidious. The (hanks of the committee are given to a working bee of gentlemen for arranging the decorations, which were very pleasing.
