LOST IN MID-CHANNEL.
NO SIGN OF HAMEL,
TWQ-WATERPLANES WRECKED.; By. Telegraph—Press Association— CopyriKiii London, Tuesday. The miesing airman, Mr Gustav Eamel, haa cot been found by the steamers patrolling tha Channel, and it is feared t'aat he has perished. One steamer saw an aeroplane flying above mid-channel nn Saturday afternoon. Mr Hatcel started on Saturday in a new Morane-Sauluier monoplane. He alighted near Boulogne, rested and replenished hi 3 oil tank. Ha then proceeded on his journey across tbe Channel. The machine was not fitted with floats. A monoplane, supposed to be M. Hamel's, was subsequently seen patsing Cape Gris Nez. M. Hamel wore a pneumatic tyre to act as a lifebuoy.
Two of the raval ~ waterplanes searching for him fell into the Sea to-day, and were wrecked. The pilots were rsßcued.
