NORD-DEUTSCHER LLOYD.
EXTENSION TO NEW ZEALAND,
By .Telegrapb.—Press Assoc; ation.^rCoDyrls&l Sydney, Friday.
Interviewed respecting the London cable that the Nord-Peutscher Lloyd proposed to extend operations to New Zealand, shipping men §xpressed doubt, pointing to the fact that: since the company was only able, with a subsidy of a quarter oE a million, to run a monthly service between Australia and Europe at a lobs, it seemed obvious that an extension to New Zealand, already served by steamers via the Caps, was not a commercial proposition. It is suggested, however, that the movement rosy bo part of a German publii policy of development of deep sea carrying trade.
