The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., reports:— At Pio Pio on the 14th, we held our usual stock sale. There was a good demand for all classes of saeep and cattle, and we quitted. , tha whole of our yarding, 287 head of cattle and 1130 sheep. Fat cows £5 6s to £7 7s 6d, fat steers £7 7s 6d to £lO, frpsh-conditioned empty cows £4 to £4 9s, cows and calves £6, eighteen months steers well grown £4 10s, eighteen months heifers, empty £3 9a to £3 12s 6d, good calves £2 4s, inferior 203 to 31s, four to Bix tooth ewes in lamb 21s 6d, two tooth ewes in lamb 20s Id, hoggets, mixed sexes 12s 4d to 12s 9d, ewe hoggets lis, s.m. ewes in lamb 15s 9d to 183 3d.
FAT STOCK MARKET. The Naw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agencv reports: — At Westfield yards on Wednesday, fat cattle came forward in average numbers, and prices were well maintained at fully last week's quotations, best oxen selling to 32s 6d per 1001b, others 29s to 31s, cows and heifers 26s to 295, steers sold at £7 to £l3 17a 6d, cows and heifers £4 to £8 12s 6d. A draft of 20 steers from Messrs R, and W. Gollan, Panmure, averaged £l2 15a 6d Veal calves came forward in larger iium bers than usual, and sold at higher rates. Heavy vealers sold at from £4 to £4 19s, medium weights £3 to £4, lighter £2 to £2 18s, others 20a to 37s 6d, smaller and fresh-dropped 5b to 18s 6d. Sheep came forward in less numbers than usual, and advanced in price on lost week s rates. Best wethers sold at from ?.8s 6d to ols 9d, othen 23s to 2Ss, heavy ewes 24s to 259 9d, others 23s to 28s, heavy ewes 24s to 25s 9d, others 20s to 23s 9d. Hoggets came forward in usual numbers. Best 15s 3d to 19s 9d, others 13s 9d io 15s. Pigs came forward in usual numbers and sold well. Baconers £3 to £3 12s, large ] porkers £2 to £2 17s, porkers 30s to 38s, slips 18s to 255, weaners 8s Gd t° 14s. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows, A heavy yarding of prime bullcks and sheep came forward. There was good demand for bullocks, which sold readily at ruling rate?. The demand for sheep was quieter, but prices were firm. Prime heavy bullocks £l2 to £l2 10s, prime bullocks £ll 15s to £l2 17s 6d, lighter £lO 10s 4d to £ll, prime cows £6 6s to £7, prime • wethers 23s to 23s Id, 1 extra prima heavy ewes and wethers 25s 6d, good ewes 18s 6d to 19s 2d, • plain 16? 10d to 17s, good lambs 16s • 2d, plain 10s 6d.
