RECORD STOCK SALE.

SPLENDID LINES OF CATTLE. RESOURCES OF DISTRICT. The stock sale held at Te Kuiti on Wednesday last by the Farmers' Auctioneering Company is popularly held to be the moat successful sale yet held in the district. In noint of quality and numbers the yarding waa a record and several experienced judge 3, including such aa Mr W. Gadsby, unhesitatingly aver that tho cattle were the finest line they had ever seen in New Zealand. It doeß not require a great stretch of imagination to realise that this is ao when it is stated that about fourteen hundred fine bullocks were yarded and among the lot it would be difficult to pick even one bad coloured heast. With such a yarding it waa only to be expected that prices would he high, and an average of about £8 per head was realised for the bullocks. The majority, of courße, were bought to go on Waikato turnips, and of these one lot secured by Mr W. Morgan, fetched about £9 a head. It is interesting to note that tbe bulk of the cattle came from the district surrounding Te Kuiti, the furthest point touched being Mahoenui, while a good number came from Mairoa and Rangitoto districts. The stock were handled with remarkable despatch, and up till yesterday over 400 had been trucked and 300 sent by road, while mobs of 200 and 400 respectively are to leave t«-day and Monday. The sheep yarded at th 9 sale total-

Lsd 2500, and excellent prices were realised for all lines, as high as 21a being paid for good conditioned wethers! Already over 1500 wethers and 250 ewea have been trucked. The railway officials are to be congratulated upon the manner in which the stock has been handled, all ttie necessary arrangements having been carried out without a hitch.
