ATTEMPTED MURDER.
GIRL'S THROAT CUT.
FATHER UNDER ARREST,

A tragedy occurred in street yesterday afternoon ,at 3.30 when a man named Wiliiam Tynan, it is alleged, attempted to take the life of his daughter. Evelyn, a child agtd 12 by cutting her troat. It is stated tliat the father met the child as she left the Beresford street school grounds, and spoke to her, tilling hai that it was better that she should die than that she should be forced into earning her living "on the Btreels." It is understood that the father then seized the girl, and cut her throat from ear to ear with a razor. The child was at once taken to the hospital, where tnr dying depositions were taken. The father, who is stated to be of an eccentric nature, is under arreat. Later. Accused has been remanded f>r a week. The girl's condition is Very low.
